The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) PowerPoint Diagram is an editable diagram created for project managers and system engineers. Every Portfolio, Program and Project needs to be decomposed in order to be manageable. Teams and managers need to define milestones and deliverables to treat each piece of the project.
A Work Breakdown Structure (also known as WBS) is a hierarchical diagrammatic representation of a projects based on its deliverables. Based in the Divide and Conquer principle, project managers decompose milestones into smaller activities and their deliverables. Using this technique PM’s can organize the team’s work into manageable pieces. The elements of the WBS are products, data, services or any combination of the previous. WBS also serves for cost estimation and control.
The Work Breakdown Structure PowerPoint Diagram is created using PowerPoint shapes, that provide the tree structure and its nodes. Each node consists of a title, a cell with a number representing the cost or effort of the node, another cell representing the percentage of completion of the node, and a label that informs if the node is pending, in-progress or delivered. Each node is created as an individual PowerPoint Table, allowing the user to fully customize its appearance.
The high level tree diagrams is displayed vertically through the use of two PowerPoint Slides, but the user can choose to change the layout of the presentation and instead of displaying the WBS in landscape, it can choose to display it in portrait layout, in order to show the lower leaves of the diagram.
