5C of Customer Crisis Communication PowerPoint Template

A data breach notification going out at 2 a.m. isn’t the moment to invent a messaging framework from scratch. The 5C of Customer Crisis Communication PowerPoint Template gives the five principles, Clarity, Compassion, Consistency, Credibility, and Control, a fixed place around a central crisis-communication hub, so the structure is already decided before the crisis is. PR and reputation management consultants use it to align a response team on the same five checkpoints during a data breach or service disruption.

This crisis communication template includes three layouts:

  • Pentagon Layout, five colored wedges (Control, Clarity, Compassion, Consistency, Credibility) fanned around a white central circle labeled “Crisis Communication,” each wedge paired with an icon and a placeholder text block outside it
  • Linear Block Array, the same five principles laid out as a horizontal row of color-coded blocks, each with room for supporting detail
  • Zigzag Diamond Layout, the five principles as staggered diamond shapes running in a zigzag line

Each wedge on the Pentagon Layout carries its own icon, a ship’s helm for Control, a magnifying glass for Clarity, a handshake for Credibility, a heart for Compassion, and a cycle arrow for Consistency, plus a placeholder text block outside the pentagon for the supporting detail. The same five labels, colors, and icons carry over to the Linear Block Array and Zigzag Diamond Layout, so switching layouts doesn’t mean re-entering the framework from scratch.

Onboarding new hires before they handle live escalations, a crisis management trainer can walk through the Pentagon Layout wedge by wedge, then switch to the Zigzag Diamond Layout partway through to keep the session visually fresh. Briefing support agents during a live service outage, a customer experience lead can pull up the Linear Block Array and assign one principle to each block as the immediate talking points for the next hour.

Labels, colors, and fonts across all three layouts are entirely editable, so a rebrand doesn’t mean rebuilding the diagram. Add this to the crisis playbook before the next incident review, so the five principles are ready before the meeting starts, not during it.
