Many presentation apps have some form of cloud-based backup for older file versions, and Google Slides is no different. With version history, you can find and restore older versions of files, including the file versions you might have saved or the automatically created versions from different points in time. This can help restore older versions if you accidentally overwrite your Google Slides templates.
How to Save File Versions
By default, Google Slides saves different file versions. However, you can save a file version to preserve a specific version for your Google Slides presentation by going to File -> Version History -> Name Current Version.
Name the version of your file so you can remember it later if you need to restore it, and click Save.
