The Arab culture is another strong influence among the people of Pakistan. Its capital, Islamabad houses the largest mosque in South Asia, the Faisal Mosque. Pakistan cuisine also shows a strong presence of Arab backgrounds. Aside from requiring all dishes in this country to be halal, the flavors and serving style also resonates its Arab influences. One of the famous Pakistani dishes is the seekh kebab – it’s a grilled skewer of minced meat and spices. This dish is often served with naan bread like a doner kebab. Another house hold Middle Eastern dish is the chuloo kebab – minced meat kebab served with grilled tomatoes, onion and flavored rice.
